Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Common Ground Camp ("CGC," "we," "us," or "our") and our partner Klarbild ("Klarbild") collect, use, share, and retain information about you. By accessing commongroundcamp.com, creating an account, purchasing a ticket, or attending camp, you consent to the practices described here. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

Information we collect

We collect broad categories of information, including but not limited to:

• Identity data — full legal name, preferred name, date of birth, gender, photo, government-issued ID where required
• Contact data — email, phone number, mailing address, emergency contacts
• Account data — username, password hash, login history, device fingerprints
• Registration data — pass type, session selection, dietary restrictions, allergies, medical conditions, medications, religious affiliation (if disclosed), travel arrangements, lodging preferences
• Payment data — billing address, last four digits of card, transaction history (full card numbers are processed by Stripe and not stored by us)
• Behavioral data — pages viewed, time spent, links clicked, scroll depth, mouse movements, referral source, search queries
• Technical data — IP address, browser, OS, device identifiers, language, timezone, network information
• Communications data — emails, chat messages, contact form submissions, voicemails, in-app messages, and any content you submit
• On-site data — photos, video, audio recordings, check-in/check-out times, location within camp grounds, incident reports
• Inferred data — preferences, interests, demographic inferences, and engagement scores derived from the above

We may collect information from third parties, public records, social media, and analytics providers, and combine it with information we already have.

How we use your information

We use your information for any lawful purpose, including:

• Operating the site, your account, and the camp
• Processing payments and registrations
• Communicating with you about your registration, the event, and future events, products, and partner offerings
• Personalizing content, advertising, and marketing — including from Klarbild and other partners
• Research, analytics, and product development
• Training, testing, and improving software and AI systems operated by CGC or Klarbild
• Safety, security, fraud prevention, and incident investigation
• Enforcing our Terms and Camp Policies
• Complying with legal obligations and responding to lawful requests

Sharing with Klarbild and other partners

Klarbild is a co-owner of certain CGC intellectual property and operates jointly with us on data and content. Klarbild has the right to access, use, store, analyze, and commercialize information collected through our services for its own business purposes, including marketing, analytics, product development, and AI training, subject to this policy.

We also share information with:

• Service providers — Stripe (payments), Supabase (data storage), Resend (email), Vercel (hosting), analytics and advertising vendors
• Affiliates and successors — including in connection with any merger, sale, financing, or restructuring
• Law enforcement and regulators — when required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property
• Other partners — for joint marketing, sponsorship, and event purposes

We do not sell personal information for cash, but data sharing for advertising and analytics may qualify as a "sale" or "sharing" under certain state laws. See "Your rights" below.

Photography, video, and audio at camp

By entering camp grounds or appearing in any CGC or Klarbild media, you grant CGC and Klarbild a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable, transferable, sublicensable license to photograph, film, record, edit, reproduce, distribute, display, perform, modify, and use your name, likeness, image, voice, and any statements you make, in any medium now known or later developed, for any purpose, including commercial, promotional, editorial, and AI training use, without further notice, approval, or compensation to you.

You waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product, and you release CGC, Klarbild, and our respective licensees from any claims arising from such use, including claims for invasion of privacy, defamation, or right of publicity.

If you do not consent to this, do not attend camp.

Cookies and tracking

We and our partners use cookies, pixels, SDKs, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the site, remember you, analyze behavior, and deliver advertising. By using the site, you consent to these technologies.

Retention

We retain your information for as long as we deem necessary for the purposes described above, and at minimum for the period required by applicable law (typically 7 years for financial and registration records).

Security

We use commercially reasonable security measures. No system is perfectly secure, and you provide information at your own risk.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your information, or to opt out of certain processing. We will honor verified requests to the extent required by law. Some rights are limited by our and Klarbild's legitimate business interests, legal obligations, and existing licenses (including the media license above, which is irrevocable).

Children

Our services are intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

Changes

We may update this policy at any time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance.
